RE: RIM performances (reply)... Disagreed my friend, its the work of the Media and Analysts
Again, reasons for RIM returning to profitability from 2014
1) Cost Optimization Program will save RIM $1B annually.. less expense more profit.
2) Comparable Earnings in F2014, to losses in F2013 will show growth.
3) RIM will start normal production and shipments on new BB10 phones plus
replenishing Carriers' inventories and those Consumers waiting for BB10
4) RIM spent billions on intellectual properties than will be fruitful when they
increase their licensing deals
5) RIM also been spending billions on research and developments which will also
be profitable from innovations like M2M, etc
6) RIM has cleaned up its books, example no goowill writeoffs going forward.
7) RIm has $477M provision in their Inventory a/c which can be added back
to profits if BB10 is fruitful ( I believe its going to be a wow)
8)The periodical payments of these Intangibles will soon end
9)Short Covering will have to happen , sooner rather than later.
10) RIM sold 53.6 millions older phones in 2012 and will be better in 2014 and onwards
because mainly the smartphone market is only 30% tapped. RIm has the advantage
to build from the 70% untapped market, because they are big in the developing countries.
10) These Analysts will be having different visions when their Companies are ready to cover.
