Basically computers are running algorithims that analize the bids and asks and will alter their bids and asks hundreds of times a minute to profit the most

I put a measly 100 share buy at 10 cents below the sp today just for the heck of it...In the space of 20s the sp dropped one cent at time, bids & asks changing down, and filled my bid. Then...300,000+ shares traded and 20s later it was right back up 10 cents to where it started!...huh?, did I cause all that? What was that all about?
