RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: Cant lick em join em!

Bugoff I truly understand the point you made regarding the fact the Poynt investors should take a look in the mirror and blame themselves.  I agree!  That is what I have been doing.  But there is a second step that is essential - in order to prevent the same thing from happening again.  That is the process that you are now viewing.

We are looking at all the signals that we overlooked.  Like:

  1. The true situation regarding outstanding debt was hidden (or I was lacking in DD)
  2. AO may have been purposely misleading investors (not only from his forward looking statements but from the several press interviews that he had [eg Calgary Herald])
  3. We are not conversant with AO mental health.  Was he having some type of episode when he signed the secured short term debt with INT?
  4. Was the hiring of Yves Millette only for optics?
  5. We were not aware of the sinkhole that NASCAR carried - siphoning the bank account on something I deem was unnecessary (but AO deemed as vital advertising)
  6. Who encouraged and advised AO regarding the loan for integrating Ortsbo into the Poynt platform (Remember bugoff that money was not used to run Poynt but was specifically used for platform integration).  At least that is what was told to the investors.

So bugoff my friend, I you only take a deep breath and look at this situation from the perspective of Poynt investors, and you do so with bias, you may be able to understand our disdain for AO and the situation that he produced for the Poynt investors.

Lots of things that you post are true.  But all I ask from you is a little understanding.

Surely I have learnt much from this situation.  And I add, it is worth every dime that I lost.  I hope that I am smarter and wiser and the likes of AO cannot sell me snake oil in the future.  I hope so!

I have now added some additional metrics when looking at stock plays.  Of course, when dealing with speculative plays one has to create a system of analysis.  So below is my system when dealing with speculative plays (posted this as thian1):

Lesson Learned:

  1. Most CEO's are snake oil salesmen (not all)
  2. A NR is the pump tool of choice for a company
  3. The MT of a company oftentimes could be viewed as a Passel of Hogs
  4. The Venture Exchange has lots of 1's, 2's and 3,s
  5. In many cases Greed is the main motivation for executives
  6. Stupid people often find themselves in a leadership company - I quote the words of Warren Buffet "Buy a company that any fool can run because one day a fool will be running it"
  7. Guard against "expert" opinions and predictions and rely more on Fundamental and Technical Metrics
  8. Follow your own gut instinct and not an opinion transplanted by another 'more knowledgable'   zelig or expert
Sorry to be so longwinded this morning.

Great day everybody.
