RE: Everyone has there own opinions

RE: Everyone has there own opinions

Frank

I totally agree...Anyone buying shares in a company would be daft to come on a chat board and bash their own stock.

My point is not about diversification...its about why an individual company is in your porfolio in the first place.

These boards are for sharing. They are very helpful in passing information, offering perspective, and sharing opinions relating to companies.

If someone has an opinion or question...plunk it on the board and more often than not, someone will provide some feedback. It's great.

The problem with these boards is that you get a lot of "group think"...Where everyone is there to pump up a story and make themeselves feel good about why they bought the shares...and in the process objectivity goes out the window cuz everyone is looking through rose colored glasses. We all need objectivity!

Honestly, a lot people on these boards haven't the foggiest of what they are doing. Seriously! To them its just like buying a lotto ticket. When in actual fact they should be picking the company apart...Shares, share structure, options, warrants, resource, tonnage, economics, equity, debt...to get a glimps of what the shares are worth.

When I give an opinion...people can agree or disagree...If you own shares in the company and disagree with my point. Great; lets discuss. If you own shares, yet agree with some of my negative comments...I don't expect investors to dogpile on their own investments.  If you own shares, and yet still agree with the negative comments....You Don't have to post! Keep quiet...but consider the points made.

That being said...Investors who defend obvious shortfalls in companies only make themselves look bad as they are either naive, don't know what they are talking about or merely sticking their heads in the sand. AND they certainly are not helping others.

Key ...Don't get married to your stories...Know why you bought the companies shares and what you expect to get for them when you sell...If the story changes get out and reassess.  I remember long ago when I first started investing holding on to some dog turd investment for over 5 years...What a waste. It eventually went to zero.

Management teams are generally good or bad...Try to establish opinion on them when buying juniors as more often than not you'll find its the same teams over and over making the successful finds. Ex Friedland, Catherine MacLeod...etc.

Take it for what its worth...

I can see why people get defensive as there are tons of manipulative skunks on these boards trying to pump or bash...I'm not one of them...Just consider what I've said and decide for yourself.

But consider this...Like investors on this board...Management is going to try to put the best spin on its news in an attempt to put the company in the best light...Ive seen some news release on the venture exchange that management states "we are excited to report"...and the news is horrible...

Bottom line...We are all responsible for the return of our own investments.
