With the auto dealer example in the last post, Aeroplan was used only for parts/service, etc, but not car sales, which Air Miles. If it's going to be that way for some dealerships, why not become a reseller of Air Miles only for the parts/service category. It would still bring in good revenues.
Those dealers which offer Aeroplan for car sales and service, then it's business as usual with Aeroplan.
It could be Futura has spoken with Loyalty One (Air Miles). If Air MIles doesn't want to do sales/service category, why not let Futura do so? Futura could be a reseller for industry categories Advantex has, but under the Air Miles name.
Being a reseller of both loyalty programs, may also attract financing which Futura will require in the millions. The company is down to its last marble, It won't hurt to explore all possible options.
Less than a week before Jan 18th, unless an extension is granted. Maybe a news release in the next 6 days.
