RE: RE: Questions surfacing

"...young adults shouldn't have to leave the island to find work."  You state this as if it were a common fact. The fact is we live in a highly mobile world.  My children live in different cities than I do.  They went where their work skills took them.  That is the reality.  Nobody, in this day and age, can be assured of keeping their children close to home and nobody should expect that jobs will be created for those that stay.  Besides that, if I wanted my children to live nearby, I wouldn't expect them to go down into a mine for lack of better skills.  There are many skills needed as our population approaches retirement.  Encourage young adults to obtain skills that will be necessary in the near future.  The Raven mine is temporary.  What will they do 16 years from now when the mine closes, they have kids of their own and a mortgage to pay?  The Raven mine is no solution for your children or mine.
