RMP's light oil fetches WTI prices for the most part. They also have two hedges in place for a combined 1000bbl/day around $100 for the remainder of this year. They have had differentials prices at points during Q2,Q3 in the range of $5-15, not the $25-40 like WCS and all heavy oils. If you go back thru the financials provided it has all the info with exact numbers. The net backs alone for RMP are $40-60 which is way higher them what most heavy oil even sells for!
WCS is heavy oil from places like Ft Mac, Cold Lake, Loyd.. etc. Raggety gave a good example of the API which has to do with viscosity and stuff.
If you play any Bakken light oil plays like CPG, PBN or Renegade they produce light oil in the 38-45 API and RMPS oil is around 35-40 API which is very similar but not quiet as light.
