What does TSU Know Did TSU know about this propram 14 Alberta based gas companies were selected to go to Ukraine. Is this why TSU moved office from B.C to Alberta? There is a
DTEK Oil&Gas Company was founded in May 2011 to deal with both onshore and offshore production of hydrocarbons by DTEK, the largest privately-owned vertically integrated energy company in Ukraine (core businesses are coal production and processing, electricity generation, transmission and sale).
The company's set-up is at the final stage, and starting from 2013, DTEK Oil&Gas will proceed with the implementation of its long-term development strategy up to 2030. This strategy will be aimed at establishing an efficient centre of hydrocarbon production in Ukraine with the prospect of entering international oil and gas markets and fully securing gas supplies to DTEK's electricity and heat generating assets, which require more than three billion cubic meters per year.
Moreover, taking into account Ukraine's high forecast potential of unconventional gas reserves, DTEK Oil&Gas puts a special emphasis on studying different approaches to unconventional gas production.
Underground coal gasification (UCG) and coal bed methane production (CBM) are among the priorities of DTEK Oil&Gas. The Company plans to implement these projects at DTEK's coal assets, having coal reserves of over one billion tonnes at the sites of over 700 km2, licenced for coal extraction for over 25 years. DTEK mainly produces coal at underground mines at the depth of up to 0.5km. The coal output amounted to 37 million tonnes in 2011.
For purposes of UGC and CBM production, DTEK Oil&Gas plans to establish mutually beneficial partnership relations with leading international companies with significant experience in the implementation of such projects and to start pilot application of the most efficient methods at DTEK's coal seams. If pilot projects' stage proves to be successful, the company will switch to their commercial application, carry out production drilling and set the required infrastructure.
Furthermore, DTEK Oil&Gas considers acquisition of operating oil and gas assets with proven hydrocarbon reserves. If the company makes such acquisitions, it will need experienced contractors possessing the yield stimulation and increase methods and offering an operational cycle of field construction and drilling works.
DTEK Oil&Gas' plans implementation will allow the company to contribute to energy independence of Ukraine, to improve quality and sustainability of its energy balance and to enhance its role in solving the matters of strategic energy security of the European continent. Moreover, we will improve the overall environmental performance of DTEK's business, in full compliance with the long-term strategy of the Company and with the international obligations of Ukraine.
