If Teck offers 8 cents, I suspect they will get silence back.  This project will generate a lot of cashflow and is a perfect fit for Teck's current development portfolio. They have several expansion projects of modest cost (a few hundred million) and a number of multi-billion projects that they are not moving along very quickly.  La Verde is basically $1B to build and they could easily find a partner to take a minority or majority position.
