The sector has a budget of 430 million soles for rural electrification. The works rural electrification in the district of Canaris in Lambayeque, reached almost 100% of their localities and subtraction only improve some sectors, said Ministry of Energy and Mines (MEM).

The head of Northern Projects DG MEM Rural Electrification, Luis Torres Casabona engineer, explained that 48 localities are electrified, which constitute 80% of the district.

He said that while the network is already in Canaris and Huacapampa, there were some supply problems in several areas of the district, which are being overcome gradually, and soon to be counted with the energy needed to meet demand.

On the other hand, said that this year the sector has a budget of 430 million soles for rural electrification projects nationwide. "It is prioritizing areas that are related to mining, as Cañaris" he said.

Finally, the official said that the MEM is also working on the installation of solar panels and plans to install 20,000 in jungle areas and border where it is difficult to grid extension.

El sector presenta un presupuesto de 430 millones de soles para electrificación rural
Las obras de electrificación rural desarrolladas en el distrito de Cañaris en Lambayeque, han alcanzado casi el 100% de sus localidades y solo resta mejorar algunos sectores, informó el Ministerio de Energía y Minas (MEM).
El jefe de Proyectos Norte de la Dirección General de Electrificación Rural del MEM, ingeniero Luis Torres Casabona, explicó que son 48 localidades electrificadas, las que constituyen el 80% del distrito.
Precisó que si bien la red ya está atendida en Cañaris y Huacapampa, hubo algunos problemas de abastecimiento en varias zonas del distrito, que se están superando paulatinamente al contarse con la energía necesaria para cubrir la demanda.
Por otro lado, indicó que para este año el sector cuenta con un presupuesto de 430 millones de soles para obras de electrificación rural a nivel nacional. “Se está priorizando zonas que tienen relación con la minería, como Cañaris”, dijo.
Finalmente, el funcionario señaló que el MEM también trabaja en la instalación de paneles solares y planifica instalar 20 mil en las zonas de la selva y frontera donde es difícil llegar con extensión de redes.
