RE: RE: offer.........

RE: RE: offer.........

My guesstimate of what has/is transpiring:

One of the offers may have come from Barrette-Chaplais group for the Matagani, Val d'or, and Ste-Marie sawmills. They have been sniffing around these sawmills for the last 2 years and have finally decided to make an offer seeing as the market has moved up. I don't see anyone else making a move on Eacom as a larger comeptitor would have done so when the stock was trading at single digits this summer.

With this sale the proceeds would allow the company to either reinvest in their remaining plants or acquire a competitor the same or smaller in size.  The other offer is to merge/acquire  another Timber company in the US or Canada to form a larger company. The condition for this to happen would be that the newly formed company will continue to be headed by Rick Doman. The 3rd option is to continue operating as is and organically grow the company. All three options should have a positive impact on the company.  The acqusition from Barrette-Chaplais would immediately have a postive impact on the stock but a negative impact on the long run. The acquisition of a competitor would have a negative impact on the short term but would substantially improve the mid to long term value of the stock.  Seeing how Rick Doman has acted in the past I am betting on a merger/acquisition from Eacom.
