BigSky thanks for sharing facts about the mine safety record at Troy. In my opinion, excessive government regulation is the 'political risk' for U.S. mines, so if the data you cite in your post is available in a searchable online database, it would be a great help to me If you could share a link.   In my opinion, formed from anecdotal evidence, non-union mines or mines in red states potentially have greater exposue to adverse regulatory enforcement actions by executive agentcies controlled by democratic political appointees, than mines that are unionized or in blue states.  Have you seen any hard data regarding MSHA citations on non-unioned mines vs. mines that are a union shop or red state mines vs. blue state?
