Peruvian Government begins work on Kañaris
MEM: registration begins for free delivery of 4,500 gas cookers in Cañaris
Lima, Jan. 27 (ANDINA). In the district of Canaris, in Lambayeque, this week will start the registration of families in poverty in order to start, as of March 15, delivery of a kitchen and a gas balloon to each beneficiary, reported the Ministry of Energy and Mines (MEM).
In a press release, MEF said that it is developed as part of the national program Kitchens Peru conducting the Central Government through the MEM.
This is one of the important agreements delegating MEM officials with lieutenant governors, municipal authorities and residents of several rural communities of Canaris, after holding a meeting at the town of Huacapampa.
Roger Rosa Perez, national technical coordinator Kitchens Peru, said that as of March 15 is planned gradual delivery of an estimated 4,500 gas cookers (including a ball LPG) to the same number of families in poverty and extreme poverty in Canaris.
The process begins in the town of Huacapampa and then spread to other communities and villages in the district.
To this end, lieutenant governors Huacapampa, hamlets, annexes and other population centers committed Cañaris from tomorrow start the enumeration of families in poverty who do not have gas stove.
The industry says that Canaris is one of the ten poorest districts of the country, where over 51 percent of the population is living in extreme poverty and most households cook with wood, creating sequels economic, health and environmental impacts.
In turn, the head of North Projects General Directorate of Rural Electrification (DGER) MEM, Luis Torres, told the municipal authorities and the public that rural electrification work in 60 locations covering Cañaris through 2010, in both remaining 13 locations will be interconnected by 2013 and 2014.
In the case of 17 villages located in very remote and rugged areas, there are plans to install solar panels family, which 100 percent of the electricity will come to all villages in the district.
Social programs
The meeting, also attended Miriam Moran, coordinator of Lambayeque Regional Development Ministry and Social Inclusion (Midis), who reported on the implementation this year of a number of important social programs Canaris.
