My company uses 10Gbit/s linecards on our Core/Backbone layer, and they are very $$$$$, and the router Chassis can only accomodate limited linecard configurations. If POET tech could one day illiminate the linecards without a hit in bandwidth capacity it would reduce the router formfactor and intrease the port density (basically make it cheaper to plug in more fibres to your router when you want to add capacity).
My company uses more Juniper equipment for our core layer routers (very costly devices)
