PCM early solution to problems Kañaris

The Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM) highlighted the progress made by the National Dialogue and Sustainability (ONDS) in efforts to resolve the conflict by exploration activities Candente Copper Company in Kañaris, Ferreñafe, Lambayeque region.


As reported by the PCM, in the meeting between the parties was reached substantial agreement for the establishment of peaceful dialogue in this area.


These agreements allow us to continue with the process initiated at the Bureau of Labor Development Kañaris district.


The meeting was attended regional president of Lambayeque, Humberto Acuña Peralta Incahuasi district mayor, Fernando Diaz Rodriguez, Congressman of the Republic of Lambayeque, Mr. Virgilio Acuña; representatives Defense Front Kañaris Moist Forests and San Isidro Labrador Community.


Also, delegates from San Pablo Community Incahuasi Round Marayhuaca Campesina and Piedra Colorada, Community of José Carlos Mariátegui, Community San Juan de Kañaris, the Deputy Minister of Mines, Guillermo Shinno, and representatives of the ONDS .


It was agreed that the next meeting of the Working Committee is included as agenda item incorporating the Municipality of Incahuasi, two representatives from the farming communities of this district, the City of Salas, Subdistrict Board of Irrigation Users Motupe, Ministries of Environment and Culture, and Candente Copper Mining Company, as members of this workspace.


Similarly, representatives of the executive raised the possibility of installing, as part of the Bureau, a sub-working group to address the problem of mining area.


This will, adds the note, that within the institutional spaces already installed, you can address the issue of mining as a primary concern of the local population.
