RE: RE: Jeff's got nothing? Sometimes Management's best interests coincide with those of the shareholders. Jeff and WND are in a battle with Brookfield. Jeff can continue to have the shareholders in his corner if he can rally the troops with more than a pep talk. Otherwise, Brookfield's voting power will control WND by winning the tender and fire him, replace the Board, and counter his lawsuits by paying more lawyers with countersuing, out of their much deeper pockets. If Brookfield wins, Jeff gets no bonus, loses his job and power, and has to reach into his own pocket to fight Brookfield who can raise $100 million at 5% at the drop of a hat.
I think Jeff is smart, so I think he can see this and your cynical conclusion, Bakken, that his interests are not the same as ours, is wrong. The question is whether Jeff sees it that way and doesn't overestimate how far shareholders are going to follow him, given he is ahead of his enemies 2 to Nil. Thing is, you have to win 100% of the battles in his position. Lose 1 because you are too confident, and your power and your following declines to almost nothing.
