my experience with the z10 some of what is being posted about flaws is true. It isn't perfect. Is it better than the IPhone? ...well I don't know as I came from a 9800. What i do know is it took several hours to transfer contacts and many phone calls. My carrier is Rogers and they bunted me out, I called BB and got cut off, I called my internet provider and they don't support the Z10. Called BB again and ended up in SA and the guy said my phone wasn't set up for email. Back to Rogers and the girl didn't know what a BB z10 was. When I said I was losing confidence in her abilities to help, the phone went dead....hmmm. I called back and got a guy who was able to help and it was relatively simple to get my emails. Then I realized none of my contacts came. This morning again after a few hours I found a work around for this.
My complaints would be
going from a BB6 phone to the 10 should be as simple as connecting the USB cord and it isn't
if you have yahoo or Gmail the email thing is easy, not so much on others, mine being cogeco
my wife's phone froze tonight
the charger symbol is very small and it doesn't always connect so I can't just stick the charger on on walk away I have to wait and look a see if the lightening bolt appears and it is so small I need glasses to see it
On the BB forums the list of complaints is long and the transfer of contacts is major
BB World has changed for the BB10 and I don't like it yet
What I like
the browser is great, I hated the BB6 version
The predictive typing is great and in the right location for fast accurate typing
love the hub
a lot of apps are just stupid, I don't use apps on my desk top and don't need an app for 99% of the things I do. It truly is, mobile computing.
In conclusion I'm worried that the product has one major flaw and that is the transfer from one phone to another. Business people won't like that so this needs to be fixed. If you have trouble going from BB to BB what is it like for other platforms.
I was all in until yesterday but sold some yesterday and again today. I was heavy into calls and they have a limited shelf life. I still have lots left but have taken some off until I'm sure they have over come the transfer issue. Can you imagine the television on CNBC if one of the hosts or guest cannot transfer their contacts.
The shares I own only break even at about 28 so I'm still hoping. All the calls I have left are free so if they go to zero I'm good.
This is just my own experience and opinion. I think it is helpful not to get wrapped up in the hype if you can't afford to take loses too.
