You have got me interested now since we were so long with very few techies on this board. You post is a good one, but i need some clarification on parts of the following paragraph:

Would your assessment change if it could be shown that POET works with standard fibre connectors (and therefore would not require further R&D) and that the laser also operates as a detector? I think I can produce documentation for this, but I won't bother if you were already aware of this or if you think there is a point I'm missing.
