It could have been a suggestion be either Party, but given the poor bids by Brookfield, WND probably brought it up and Brookfield's part of the discussion was, if they were polite, "no thanks" or possibly to suggesting a lower price. That a type of deal was mentioned has nothing to do with a deal being likely or being accepted by both parties. In fact, there was no deal acceptable to both parties, or we would have a friendly buyout at a higher price.
Windstar for $2.75 is fine with me and I am sure it is fine with WND. Even J-mart would like it, I'd guess. That should tell you who did not like it. And I will give you a hint....all the potential bidders that have yet to bid that much for the whole company, much less its largest and most valuable asset. So let's keep the discussion honest and let Brookfield with multiple FINAL offers be the biggest liar.
