But was it as negative as you think coalbad? I think that if you listen to the remaining section, the NDP Leader Adrian Dix agreed that First Nations need more involvement in order to reach a compromise.
He indicated which I believe is correct that First Nations doesn't necessarily oppose progress, but they want a say in how it moves ahead.
Judith Sayers asked Dix, how the NDP plans to not just consult, but reach an agreement with First Nations as to how those projects will move ahead or not. First Nations want to be part of the decision making process.
In Raven Coal's case they are, and hopefully they will be able reach a compromise which the First Nations is open to as long as it's a benefit to them. The NDP sees the challenge, but they also see an opportunity.
