City of Toronto to accept generous donation to kids@computers
   
Councillor Michael Thompson (Ward 37 Scarborough Centre), Chair of the City of Toronto's Economic Development Committee, will host a news conference to tomorrow as SelectCore Ltd. donates a lump sum of $20,000 and $230,000 worth of free Internet service over three years to the City's kids@computers Scholarship Project. SelectCore is the City of Toronto's supplier of the City Services Benefit Card.

A representative of the donor, along with a kids@computers scholarship recipient and an educational expert, will also take part in the presentation.

Date: Wednesday, January 30
Time: 12:30 p.m.
Location: Committee Room 1, Toronto City Hall, 100 Queen St. W.

The City of Toronto's award winning kids@computers Scholarship Project provides free computers and free Internet access to children of low-income families in Toronto. A staff report will be presented to the Economic Development Committee tomorrow detailing the donation.

Kids@computers scholarships are available to children aged 8 to 14 in low-income families. More information is available at https://www.kidsatcomputers.ca.
