The point is that the saudi's have an abundance of oil money(currently) and an every dwindling reserve of oil.

they are investing in everything and anything. They can come up with $7 billion for a phosphate mine, so a few hundred million to invest in their neighbour(Ethiopia) that will give them an even bigger stake in potash(they own a piece of Arab potash).

they realize their oil money won't last for ever, and they need to have businesses that generate money that they can pump into their social programs to stop any uprisings. This is more proof of their affinity with fertilizer investment.

aaa will be a cash cow, and my money says they will want some of that milk.
