RE: RE: RE: Salton Sea Geothermal Hi Terry,
I never made (or inteded to make) the point that Orita was not part of the Salton Sea KGRA (though technically it is not). My point was that Orita was not and SGP holding. I believe Orita was brought into Ram by Hezy in his original private company.
There is no debate as to what is and what is not in a KGRA. It was a BLM admisistrative distiction for leaseing rules. I say was because it no longer applies in the current compitive rules.
The Salton Sea geothermal area generally refers to the whole area shaded area in the above map. The Salton Sea KGRA is a much smaller area. Each of the KGRAs has its own charateriscs. Ormat's sand problems are in the N Brawley plant. Orita is in the SE of the Brawley KGRA. SGP Salton Sea land is off the map to the N of the Salton Sea KGRA
With regards to the 500MW holding, you are misreading the slide. The 500MW is SGP's estimated cumlative production with the Salton Sea project providing 50MW.
Hope this helps.
