RE: Conspiracy theories

RE: Conspiracy theories

wavector,  I believe you said it quite well in regards to conspiracy theories and fact.

I stopped in at a Rogers that is in a strip mall, (so very little foot traffic compared to a Roger's store in a large mall),  today. The sales person said they had sold 30 or so. He said 2 to 3 a day. He said they would have sold more but some days they did not have stock. I have been to a number of outlets and not one has said the Z10 is selling poorly. Some places will give out numbers and some don't, but they do say they are selling well. This is in line with what Glentel is saying about how well the Z10 is selling at the Wirelesswave outlets.

From numbers that I have been told from some outlets and using estimates for other outlets, I am guessing that at from 500 to 800 Z10's have been sold in a city of 80,000. Now if you use 6 to 10 per 1000 people you get 240,000 to 300,000 units sold in Canada. This is not a very scientific way of estimating but I figured I would give it a shot anyway.

As Mr. Rivet points out, we don't have any profit per unit figures from the company so these numbers mean nothing. But from what I have found out going around and asking questions, is that the articles that state that sales are not doing well dont seem right. The 300,000 total sales number from Cannacord for the month of Feb, seems to me to be way off. I have copied some of my earlier posts

I posted this yesterday:

I went to the Station Mall yesterday and here my findings. This is the largest mall here.

The Source have only been getting the Z10 for a week now. Even though they are owned by Bell they are only supplied based on past sales they are saying . They had to convince them to ship them more because people are asking for them and when they don't ha ve stock they go over to another store.

Went to Bell, Telus, Kudo, and a couple of kiosks that sell for all major carriers.  Bell guys says the Z10 is the best phone that BlackBerry has put out but they are not pushing them over the others. It all depended on the reps preference it seemed.

Telus gave a demo and were quite pleased with the Z10.  They said that they were selling well but did not give numbers. Similar experience with the lady at Rogers. Rogers was out of stock but had one that was being held that she could show me if I wanted.

At. Kudo, the young fellows there were IPhone users but said the Z10 was alot better.  No numbers but said they are selling well.

At  Black's, the guy there recommended the iPhone, but he said that he hadn't seen the Z10, they only had the dummy display.

Other observations are the iPhone 4s is a little more popular than the 5, they say Apple messed up by changing the charging cable.

BlackBerry needs to provide some more training for some resellers in my opinion.

I posted this this morning'

"Due you DD, don't get fooled by the MM that are short. There will be a lot of volitivity, the shorters will not go away easily. They will try to shake out the weak hands before they change course and then run it up when the fundementals are out and they realize they can't hold it back any longer. IMHO.  Go and check out the retail outlets, you can see for yourselves that the Z10's are selling decently, and of course there is not the long line ups but there must be at least 20 places that you can puchase the Z10 in this city. They are selling well."
