RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: The #'s DO NOT LIE!!! As for mining at Hearst, maybe it can be done year round. But certainly with more difficulty than in Madagascar
Tarquin, do you know anything about mining or operating in Africa?? Probably not... So as someone who has knowledge of both, let me first point out that although you think the weather in Africa might be an advantage, you clearly know nothing about the intensity of the rainy/cyclone season in places like Madagascar that can make many roads impassable and open pit mining very, very challenging. This not to mention the general significant logistical challenges of operating in Africa the best times (fuel supply, poor roads, parts and equipment supply and delivery issues, bottlenecks at ports, etc, etc) combined with corruption and political risk make many parts of Africa a very challenging place to operate. Madagascar is currently emerging from a recent political crisis, and it is not clear how well the upcoming elections will go... More trouble could be brewing.
I know Africa very well and have been to more than 15 countries on that continent since the mid 90's. When you say that mining in Madagascar would be easier than mining in Hearst, Ontario, Canada, I cannot help but fall on the floor laughing... That's got to be one of the dumbest things I have ever heard. If you consider all of the mining that has taken place all all over Northern Ontario since the 1800's, and with the current gold mining boom with many old mines being reopened, clearly mining in Northern Ontarion is not that difficult as you would make it out to be. In fact given the location of ZEN's deposit and the nearby infrastructure, it has to be said that it does not get much easier. Anybody with any degree of mining knowledge or experience would know that.
