The 'point' is that people make comments about the value of the land to where they have the mineral rights, and the value of said land being part of the company's portfolio. Saskatchewan took initiative way back in the early 1900's and bought up most of the mineral rights, with some exceptions of course. But to most land parcels, the mineral rights are the property of "Her Majesty the Queen".
So, like I said, mineral rights and surface parcels are two separate things... I figured that was made pretty clear in my earlier comment.
