What if ... So today big news is Ballard Power Systems and "DAS AUTO" :) (I do own some shares). Comparing two companies, Opal and Ballard, you can see some similarities. For example, they are in tech industry, they are after a new tech (to be the future of us for better living), they do own pattens for their tech, they are Canadian, long history and development process for both.
The major difference in Opel and Ballard that I have noticed is the acceptance of the tech and the ability to push further with a minimal cost. To push Ballard to the top you would have to create a network of gas station capable to handle hydrogen storage and distribution, modifying existing and producing new viechals with hydrogen cells and the most important producers of hydrogen.
Opel on the other hand, has already the network (phones, tablets, pc, servers, military, health, space, etc., etc., their is so much in capabilities in Opel tech that just thinking of it makes me "high" ;) ), already existing customer base (us), already can be produce on old assembly lines and integrated to an existing
Ballard has just received a contract from "DAS AUTO" for four years and worth $60M to $100M with 2 year extansion. BLD ( got halted today at around noon, but it was already at over 60% gain before the news was realesed). After halt was realesed it went another over 50%!!!
What I'm saying is that, IMO, Opel is ahead of Ballard (even without any sells of their procust, yet) in regards to expending their tech and attracting more JVs because of the need, want, producing and distribiuting the product.
So imagine this...
1) Opel has been already valueated at $1.0B or $1 000 000 000.00 and this was few years back.
2) Ballard has impresive patent folio and R&D experiance, so does Opel.
3) Similiar share price to O/S (130M for OPL and just over 90M for BLD)
4) and probably some other smilitarities if we want to get technical
... and if Opel was to get a contract for just over 500M for 4 years from some major tech company, this gem would go 5 or 10 or more fold, and this is just for one contract. So, there are few major players or even more that might have some money to spend on Opel ;) I'm just saying that todays Ballard news is a good example of what we might be seeing soon in markets (hunger for profit and bull market).
(I had a 420 celebration when I wrote this because of the BLD news, so some wording might .... wayyyyy offff)
cheers
