RE: RE: RE: RE: Atomic PR @igold
Thanks!
I agree it's perplexing that we haven't been at least offered a low ball for POET by now. I was at a loss as to why this was given the information we were given by OPEL over the last 2 years.
*Something* had to be wrong!
And it was . . .
If I was to pinpoint the problem, ignoring that there could be more than one issue at work, I would say it is the lack of exposure in general. I know it sounds convenient to arrive at this conclusion after the latest meeting with management in Toronto, but I'm not just parroting management. I truly believe this is the problem we face now. when I say exposure I am thinking about a wider investment community including the US, and also exposure to companies who could make use of POET.
I came to this conclusion belatedly because I was told by the old regime numerous times that "everyone knows" about POET and that the big-name companies that might buy us out were being kept in the loop regarding our progress. We also had GrowthPoint hired to help. But personally I still suspect they didn't do any work marketing POET. I think they were hired initially, but then they took a back seat to our solar-based aspirations and subsequent financial problems.
If we except that we were lied to about "everybody knowing' (or if not lied to, at least OPEL's efforts were ham-handed) then all the other pieces of the puzzle make a bit more sense. It *is* possible that Taylor could work for 25 years without anyone knowing about it or taking the work seriously, especially if the company licensing the technology itself seems not to want to brag about it (pumping solar instead, like it's the main focus- *tail wags dog*)
The Canadian market *would* embrace POET and buy enough shares to get us above a buck (as it has twice in the past) if it wasn't still smarting from all the greed, lies and incompetence of the recent past. Think of all the big OPEL supporters that finally had enough after that quarter with only $40k solar revenue after being promised $50-$80M! We lost so many loyal investors that day - FOREVER!
I think that's all in the past and I think once Atomic gets visible in a few weeks we will begin to see OPEL's failure to address the huge US investment community as a benefit.
The Canadian market has been tainted by past misdeeds and some will never come back no matter how much money we raise or how many technical milestones we achieve. The US market is pristine. They won't care about the old management regime, they will just be grateful they got in "in the beginning" back in March when OPL (or OPELF) was only in the 50s!
