BlackBerry (BBRY) Shorts Trim Positions as Z10 Rol As the launch of BlackBerry's (Nasdaq: BBRY) Z10 in the U.S. and other markets continues to spread through March, some short-sellers are heeding a bit of caution.
According to the latest market data, about 19.5 percent of BlackBerry shares are being held short, down 4.6 points from a 52-week high of 24.1 percent reached on March 1, 2013.
Bloomberg also noted today that holdings of institutional investors that lend shares are also up to one-fifth of BlackBerry's market cap over the last month.
The move seems to have been a good one, with shares up about 1.6 percent since the close March 1st. Into the open Friday, BlackBerry is up about 1.4 percent.
