If the Intels or the IBM's feel that POET when it's there, is something they need or fits into their portfolio, then sure they may take a look, but I'm not sure you realize how close some blue chips are in development of their own technology.
Now, what would really be positive is if POET actually completes their last milestone by Q1 2014, then if the others aren't up to par, they may have the stage, but until then the stage doesn't belong to POET alone, IMO.
I think that tradergrader put it correctly, and the market is looking for more than just promises, it wants to see confirmation of those forward looking statements.
