BNS DRIP

BNS DRIP

Hello, Can anyone confirm what discount to market % was applied to the last dividend reinvest purchase?

I have just signed up for DRIP on my BNS holding and my broker tells me the discount will be 2% at the next dividend. I am told that he will make the purchase with the funds received from BNS. I always thought it was the company, BNS in this case, that sent the shares to the broker, and the broker had no role to play in the operation of converting $ to shares. Now I am told that all will happen in the brokerage. Buying shares at a discount and not charging commission is  not in my broker's habits, CIBCWG. I am somewhat surprised and incredulous in the face of this future act of generosity. Can anyone speak to me about their experience with the BNS DRIP ?
