Although I agree with you that Haliburton and Schlumberger will discount to try to keep their machines moving, I don't see rigs switching too quickly. They have the guys they like to work with, and are comfortable with. The discount would have to be substantial as Hal & Schlum are both only average service providers to the mid tier drillers.

 

It will be interesting to keep an eye on the activitiy in patch this year though.
