They would also know if they have buyers ahead of time by talking to clients although they are not allowed to "premarket the deal." In any case these brokerage houses have a large internal client base (discretionary and non discretionary accounts) that will most likely soak up a good portion of this issue. This will not be disruptive too long. These projects going forward are like utility type situations with a rate of return on a deemed equity component. The banks would never allow them to fund all these massive amounts just with debt so it was inevitable and is factored into their rate of return when they plan the projects. No worry..they will make a good return on this equity.
