RE: timeline

RE: timeline

I'm in the same boat as you Stooly, suffering large paper losses. If the merger does fail, I wouldn't rule out another dividend cut at least until AvenEx can can make up for the roughly $20m in cash flow from ER. I anticipate this becoming an easier task as oil and gas prices rise. By how much it might be cut, i would only be guessing, but it sure would be nice if it wasn't. I fully agree with you on the guidance issue. As of late, the managements intrests and concerns have been very questionable and should the merger fail, I think getting this problem sorted out should be at the top of the priority list. Once it is, I think with the right management team making smart decisions, the road to regain previous prosparity is just a matter of time. Keep in mind, your yellow pages investment was very different as its phone book advertising dried up and it was left scrambling to play catch up with many other web based advertising firms. Demand for oil and gas on the other hand will only continue to grow with the population as new homes are built, more vehicles are sold, more coal plants are shuttered, etc. I don't know enough about the XL to really comment, but I know there are so many factors riding on it, I  would guess that Obamas decision will pretty well be made for him.
