You are quite right. There is a lot of hypocrisy here, especially where they discuss the reasons for CIBC getting rid of him as a client. CIBC's own traders do everything they accuse of him of doing, just like any trading operation belonging to a big bank. I find it remarkable that they would zero in on one guy trading in one stock, with the total dollar value of his trades looking tiny compared to the big picture of TSXV trading on any given day.

That being said, he is guilty of pumping misleading information, and using a false company name, so he deserves to be penalized. But the kind of behaviour that the big traders on the TSXV get away with is shameful in comparison.
