Washplant - If more ARZ shareholders withdraw their tender from AGI, then maybe AGI will go ahead and raise their offer.  They probably think they can block the HL vote and simply outlast HL.  But, I want a higher price from AGI . . .  and they can certainly afford it.  AGI has been attempting discussions with ARZ for over a year and they definitely have synergies with ARZ, so I think they will be disappointed if they don't close the deal.

Today AGI shares were up.  But, ARZ was also up and the discount to HL's offer narrowed.  Could be coincidence, but looks to me as if investors think the HL deal is going to close so that spread narrowed to 2%ish (vs 5.4% to AGI's offer).  AGI price was up because the risk of dilution seems less . . .

Anyone have other thoughts?
