RE: RE: What Happens If The Merger Fails? As far as Blackrock goes they are on record as saying they will not publically disclose, or discuss how they will vote which is their official policy for all their investments.
An interesting tidbit I came across (don't have link handy) while reading up on Nova Bancorp was that they had to get permission from the Stock Trading Commission, or whatever they call it in order to contact investors to discuss opposing the merger by vote.
They got permission, but were restricted from talking to more than 15 shareholders, or institutions.
They say they have seven making up the 10%.
I guess that means the other 8 they contacted were not so agreeable.
