RE: RE: Will they be paid AGAIN? The saddest truth of all is that even if you did stop the merger AvenEx has bee severely sabotaged.
The end result of the merger not going through at this point is a severely depressed stock price that could take a year, or more to recover.
Ask yourself how many people who own shares of AVF would want to sit on shares for a year, or morea after having lost over 60% of their value and no longer pay them a dividend.
It says it in the "Question and Answer" statement on the AvenEx Corporate website ...
Why weren’t the proceeds of the Elbow River sale simply distributed to AvenEx shareholders?
The use of the Elbow River proceeds to pay off all outstanding debt, and have AvenEx continue in an 18,000 boe/d entity (vs. ~3,000 boe/d) offers a greater long term sustainable dividend for the shareholder rather than (i) a special dividend of those proceeds, (ii) stand-alone continuation with a greatly reduced dividend, or (iii) an outright sale at depressed trading levels. https://www.avenexenergy.com/pdf/pressRelease/2013/Spyglass%20-%20FAQ%20(AvenEx).pdf
