Tris, Unfortunately your statement is true___ That's why my big money investments are in MLPs, REITs, Utilities and Royalty trusts...  At least they are somewhat restricted in their ability to cheat...  That's not to say that all are bulletproof from an investors stand point___ Atlantic power being a case in point _ Their CEO made public statements as to the safety of the dividend and financial conditions that later proved to be false... However, He now has more lawsuits against him than Bernie Madoff had and that will surely be a detriment to his career in the future...
