ashcake, a halt certainly seems like overkill.

Perhaps the halt mechanism was used to draw greater attention to the asset for sale.

When a stock is halted, a lot more eyeballs view the news.

Or someone in management got excited at the prospect of putting out any kind of news.

Lol.

Who knows?
