I don't understand your point about Fitzgibbons and Paradis, nor the helicopter reference...

 

Anyway, the characters in Tintin are Dupond and Dupont (by the way called Thomson and Thompson in the English version). The father of Georges Remi (author of Tintin, a.k.a. Hergé), Alexis, had an identical twin brother called Léon, and it seems they were very funny and inspired very directly the Dupondt "brothers" (who are in fact unrelated).
