Sherlock Holmes for Gold dore/recovery rate/troy o
Sherlock Holmes for Gold dore/recovery rate/troy o Let's put on our Sherlock Holmes hat to see what they are using.
Using numbers from their Feb. production news release:
https://finance.yahoo.com/news/metanor-produces-3017-oz-gold-150805449.html
and
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troy_ounce
1 troy oz equals 31.1g:
18,186T x 5.34g/T x 1 troy oz/31.1g x 96.7% recovery = 3019 troy oz
compared to 3017 oz announced in their news release. The 2 oz difference must be round off error.
1) So in the news release they must have used troy oz, the standard unit for precious metals because it matches for troy oz (if they took 1 oz equals 28g, then the production would have been an even higher 3353 oz).
2) They took the recovery rate of 96.7% into account. If they didn't take the recovery rate into account, it would have been a higher 3122 oz. production.
3) The 3017 oz is weight of actual gold troy ounces, not weight of the gold dore because the calculation only works for troy oz and they used a grading of 5.34 grams per tonne for gold. All the grades they have used have been for gold. The above calculation didn't include silver grade, and the news release didn't include silver.
Hmmm how come my calculation matches their numbers while in BasherT's previous post on that same news release, his calculations were totally wrong LOL
So on the counts of gold dore, troy oz, and recovery rate, I have to conclude that BasherT's post on these three items reducing the number of gold oz given in the news release was TOTAL NONSENSE again.
