M2M In the wireless sector, more and more companies are using M2M as a means to increase profitability. Custom APNs are in demand as more companies including banks are using more data and require end to end security. (Private tunnelling)
Where does Blackberry come into play? Enterprise server provides that end to end security which is not synonym of IOS or Android. Blackberry Enterprise Server is similar to a customer APN, which is encrypted end to end by AES and triple DES security. And this for any company that needs to protect their everyday data.
M2M is key, and wireless security will become more and more important as it starts going in the general market within the next year. Wireless Payments is just around the corner (No more need of carrying cash, change or cards) and this should be available within the next year to the mass public, but M2M will start becoming an increasingly familiar acronym within the next 2 years.
(Ex: Your secure wireless device can detect through your location services that you just parked your car in your driveway, the device you configured will send a request to have your House lights turn on, Your front door to be unlocked and your TV turned on with your favorite CNBC show on by the time you enter your door. Now thats M2M.)
Now I know I wouldnt trust an IOS or an Android device to do these things. IOS and Android security can be compared to a hacker getting through your Wifi router setup with WEP security. A much easier algorythm to decrypt just by using something as simple as a brute force attack.
Now you know why Samsung is trying so hard to come out with a low level security infrastructure like Samsung Knox. They say, at least there is somewhat of a security in the name itself.
