Curve, As much as I hate to hear what you say sometimes, I have to agree that all possibilities are on the table.

However, in seeing what Canada is trying to implement for their own 'bail-in' (article) in the upcoming budget, it is my position that for them to even consider and implement such a move leads me to believe that there are a lot of problems that the mainstream media is not aware of. When governments in 'stable' countries such as Canada have to implement policy to take money from citizens in the 'remote' chance that there is a bank failure only serves to make me nervous.

The Dow/S&P are up to all time highs but the economic news of late has their economy trending down, not up. Europe is a mess and Japan is battling deflation. China could have a civil war if they don't get half a billion young people working over the next ten years. (Maybe they asked North Korea to start a war to solve that problem - its worked before). The TSX should be powering higher if the US and global economy are getting stronger (on the belief that a stronger US and globlal economy creates demand for commodities) but the TSX is flat to down.

There are too many disconnects. The US market is higher on hot money. Sooner or later, things will get better or the s@$t will hit the fan (ie fundamentals will return).

I personally have no clue how gold will respond. Physical demand is strong but if the price is controlled by the paper market then who knows. Really, if I am buying physical gold, why would I want to see a higher price. I wouldn't - until I have done all my buying.

Good luck but bottom line is that we are helpless so if you are in, anything is possible.
