RE: RE: I don't understand why

I doubt even the BFS would turn things around at this point given the sentiment.  So I do not think we are waiting for the BFS; I think we are waiting for a turnaround in sentiment.   None of the wise commentators has been able to point to any specific reason for the downturn in POG, other than a change in sentiment, which is of course circular.  I accept that stock prices and the price of gold are largely determined by sentiment, and that is true on the way up as well as on the way down.  But there is so much lying beneath the surface ready to cause problems in the world, that I fully expect some event or circumstance will arise to cause investors to run back to gold, long before the BFS comes out.  Look at the firm correlation between the relatively minor event in Cyprus and the increase in POG when bank confiscation occurred and the subsequent downturn when the situation was apparently resolved.  That tells me that the world still looks to gold as a safe haven.  And anyone who thinks all is well in the world and safe havens will no longer be in demand now or in the future is going to be proven wrong.
