TCPL"S West-East pipeline gains speed I refer to the Globe &Mail article on Wednesday April3rd in the ROB page1 entitled, “West –East pipeline gains speed”, written by Shawn McCarthy.
This story talks about the TransCanada natgas pipeline and TCPL’s intention to ship oil in that pipeline to Eastern Canada. It follows on the heels of another story by McCarthy last week discussing the NEB ruling regarding natgas tolls on that pipeline.
Just so there is no confusion, that pipeline has six component tubes within it and it will indeed be possible to ship oil and natgas through that pipeline at the same time to Eastern Canada. Shawn McCarthy did not make mention of the pipeline components and could lead many to erroneously believe that gas contracts would be suspended in favor of oil. That’s not the case.
