Ms. Bawa to drive international product and service marketing for Nanotech and KolourOptiks©

Vancouver, British Columbia, - Nanotech Security Corp. (the "Company") (TSX-V: NTS), developer of next-generation security and authentication features using patented nano-optics, announced today that Ms. Frenny Bawa has joined the company as its Chief Commercial Officer. She brings more than 25 years of experience to Nanotech Security, most recently serving as vice president and managing director for India for BlackBerry (formerly Research In Motion). In addition to overseeing BlackBerry's operations in India, Ms. Bawa was responsible for expanding BlackBerry's global distribution channels and thereby grew the company's global footprint. In 2011, she was recognized by Forbes as one of India's top 10 most powerful women in business.

Doug Blakeway, CEO of Nanotech commented, "Nanotech has started to move into the commercialization phase of its business, so it was critical for us to attract someone with a track record of establishing and executing on aggressive growth plans. We are fortunate to have recruited Frenny and are excited to welcome her to our team. Frenny has been successful in extremely competitive industries, in both start-ups and large technology corporations, and throughout her career she has developed effective strategies and built lasting partnerships that produce exceptional results. We think her skills will help us develop business and strong brand recognition initially in the product authentication and anti-counterfeit markets, but with eventual reach across a variety of industries where nano-optics will make a difference."

Ms. Bawa responded, "As a Simon Fraser alumnus who maintains close ties to the university, I am impressed with what Doug, Bozena, Clint and the Nanotech Security team have developed with an SFU-born technology. Nanotech Security's KolourOptiks© is unlike anything now available in the market and shows tremendous potential in an industry that constantly seeks new solutions for enhanced security. I am thrilled to be a part of the team and to have an opportunity to grow the company."

Ms. Bawa serves on the British Columbia Jobs and Investment Board and is a member of the Dean's External Advisory Board of the Beedie School of Business and SFU's Foundation Board and India Advisory Council. Ms. Bawa earned a bachelor's degree from Simon Fraser University and an MBA from McGill University.
