RE: RE: RE: Pooopsie (cashtango) and STOPS you don't need to put a hard stop in, which is an actual order, a soft stop is a mental stop that once the stock hits that level, you sell. stops are key to protecting your capital, especially in down markets. a stop would prevent you from falling 50% on a position like so many people have in the recent markets. it takes disipline to take that loss, but a small loss lets you fight another day with your capital. people that just hang on and pray fool themselves into saying they don't lose until they sell, but thats just mental accounting. the person who is dumb is the one that just holds on and watches his money vanish.
BTW almost every liability trader uses both hard and soft stops to protect their capital, and i assure you they control and make a heck of a lot more money than you.
