CGX Energy Inc. is a Canada-based oil and gas exploration company. It is focused on the exploration of oil in the Guyana-Suriname Basin and the development of a deep-water port in Berbice, Guyana. The Company, through one of its subsidiaries, holds an interest in a Petroleum Prospecting Licence (PPL) and related Petroleum Agreement (PA) on the Corentyne block in the Guyana Basin, offshore Guyana. The Company, through its subsidiary Grand Canal Industrial Estates, is constructing the Berbice Deep Water Port. This facility, located on the eastern bank of the Berbice River, adjacent to and north of Crab Island in Region 6, Guyana, is being constructed on 30 acres with 400 m of river frontage. Its subsidiaries include CGX Resources Inc., GCIE Holdings Limited and CGX Energy Management Corp. It is the operator of the Corentyne block and holds a 27.48% working interest. Its Wei-1 exploration well is located west of the Kawa-1 discovery in the northern region of the Corentyne block.

Hey "Waitingstill",

I agree with you, but I think that the trump card is behind the curtain, out of public view.  (mudman was eluding to possible "honorariums" that could sway things in PRE's favour).   IMHO there is only one reason why CGX is still alive and PRE has not been able to take us out...there are many influencial persons in Guyana who invested in CGX when it looked good for drill results, not too long ago;  I am sure they loaded up when the president was visiting the rig.  All these investors want/need CGX to go up in value and they have a lot of "influence".   The only way they could/can recoop or make some, is to set the stage with PRE in such a way that they need us as much as we needed them (co-dependancy) ergo licenses.  Now PRE have what they want but they have to play by the rules set by the gov and its friends...I have no proof but that is my take on how this has played out.
