Air Tindi

Air Tindi

I know it's simple to sit behind a keyboard and criticize but duriing the recent DA info events I kept hearing about all the additions to the fixed wing fleet last year and I kept thinking "where is all this demand coming from"?

So, I checked out the Air Tindi site. They have 23 multi-mission aircraft in the fleet. Their scheduled services only require about 10 hours per day of utilization with much less on week-ends. I can't help but to ask myself what the heck do they do with the other 22 aircraft and why do they need additional capacity? What is going on in the N.W.T. that requires so many more aircraft than a year or two ago? Has there been a dramatic increase in mining activity? No. Has there been a big population boom? No. Has there been way more people needing to fly south for medical care? Maybe a bit. Hopefully somebody else can figure this mystery out but I sure can't.
